So, I recently had my service light come on, and it hadn't since last summer, when I got the vehicle. Anyway, I took it to a mechanic, and it happened to be the O2 sensor...fixed...got an oil change, new air filter, fuel injector cleaned, etc. Today, when I have my appointment to get my inspection IT COMES BACK ON! So, tomorrow, I am taking it back so he can hook up the computer and see what it is. B

But, does anyone think would it might possibly be.

Btw, its a 1997 se....just about 198000 miles on it...

No idea. You've given us pretty much nothing to go on other than you've replaced and changed a few things. The DTC will let you know what's up.

Buying your own code reader is one of the best purchases you can make if you plan on owning an obd2 vehicle. ;)

Yes, buying my own scanner was the best $30 investment I made. it has paid for itself many times over.

sometimes something else causes the o2 sensor code to malfunction. if you take the car to autozone they will check it free, then google the code and causes for the issue and it could help.

service engine soon

My son's car had the same issue, 99 Escort 2.0. The code was a low idle, it reset after I disconnected the battery for 30 seconds. It sort of makes sense since you said that this happened last Summer... This is when the A/C would be turned on and if there was a lag or the computer did not fully compensate on the idle kick up, your idle would drop too far and throw the code. I'm still new to this car so I'm not that far in tracking down the source of the problem. Ideally the computer should compensate for the A/C idle, but if there is a vacuum leak or the idle control is not functioning properly the idle will drop too far... hope you figure it out... these can be very frustrating... :)
