my 94 escort motor that is in my festiva isnt geting enough fuel is what i have been told because it will run perfect on starting fluid but when you get it to start on its own fuel it will run for 15 seconds or so and shut off? also if you just tap the gas it shuts its self off. it will run awsome on starting fluid tho no problems at all til it runs out off starting fluid any ideas? besides the pump being bad because it make pressure almost 60psi witch is normal for a festiva pump

that is a little high i think idk festiva specs....maybe your flooding it...diff pump makes diff pressure... if not that check the regulator.......if that dont work check for possible bad injector of plug. or fuel filter...

u should do a fuel volume test....then u would know if the engine is getting enough fuel....could also try cleaning the injectors.....but did u check the fuel pump pressure or did a shop... cuz maybe they are lieing to u... and it may be just like spark plugs and wires or something...it sounds like a fuel issue though....if u think its the regulator TAKE OFF the vacum hose for that will give the engine tons of fuel.....if that dont work then its not a fuel issue OR the pump is not putting out enough...

I don't think it's nesessary to call others dummies. It may be the fuel pump, but if the ECU is from the Festiva I would be more concerned that it's not calling for enough fuel because of the larger engine. If the fuel pump has the correct amount of pressure it's only going to send the amount of fuel the ECU tells it of send.

well seeing how the computer controls the injectors *ground* to make them squirt...i would say either the computer is not doing its job or some other sensor is not hooked up right.....could also be the lead B+ for the injectors i dont really know i would look at a schimatic.

ok this car is weird it dont build any pressure i cranked it over to biuld pressure in the rail. and pulled an injector out and no fuel came out or showed any sings of even having fuel in the line. but the pump is going so yeah.

hmmm....maybe there is a restriction? or maybe the pump is turning on but is not working correctly and not making pressure. Did u do a voltage test to see if its consuming odd amounts of power...??? but as far as no fuel in rail that is very strange and the problem is probaly not the injectors but from the rail back... i would point maybe a clogged pump or something.... i would pull the pump and replace and see if that is the problem but first do the voltage test... if it passes then check for a restriction EVERYWERE

A couple of ideas for ya...
Are the injectors from the stock 1.3 the same type as the ones in the 1.8? (as to how they are wired)
Which ECU are you using, the Festiva or the Escort?
The VAF from the GT has a fuel pump switch in it. Is the VAF from the Festiva the same? That switch keeps the fuel pump runnig after the motor starts. That might be why it will idle for ~15 seconds and then die.

why get upset..... i tried helping u but your problem is just to hard...OR your just not listening to are educated guesses.....for one if your not getting any fuel to your spark plugs its either A.Fuel pump B.Line restriction I say put that damn escort gt engine back in a ESCORT GT. And if u say u cant afford it...

dude i got 2 perfectly good running escort gt's One was for 300 and the other for $60 and some snap on wrenches $229. there actually for sale... but anyways i need UPDATED INFORMATION on what u have done and what the car is doing.....
