Second gen crank trigger on a first gen.

    Has anyone put a crank trigger from a second gen on a first gen? did it fit? Any mods needed?
    What about triggers form the UK? Do they fit our escorts?


    EDIT:
    I'm only running a alternator on my car so I shouldn't have to mess with belts for my the other accessory like smog pump, PS or AC. If I recall 90s escorts use one belt for everything wile 80s escorts have 2 belts if the car has PS or a smog pump.

    i get the question, but why? you would need the entire EDIS system, pcm and all to make it work. would have to convert the entire injection system.

    Carb setup with a standalone ignition ECU, most of witch work best with a crank trigger.
    I'm thinking of using a Nodiz pro with coil pack out of a second gen. If I were to use a Nodiz ecu I would need a MAP or TPS and crank trigger for it to work.
    Programmable MSD ignition boxes also benefit from a crank trigger but can be used with a magnetic pickup in the distributor.

    i believe the 1g block actually has the provisions for the later vr sensor to mount to. just like the cam sensor boss. in the last pic in the thread you can see the 2 bolts where the ckp would bolt on a 2g. if you can get the balancer and sender to bolt up, your golden.
