Shit I wouldnt mind throwin in a sparco driver´s seat with a 4pt harness... the stock seatbelts on my 91 lock up constantly and totally screw up my ability to move.

But a setup like that would cost me like 400 bucks easy.

i got some manual belts from a 4 door tracer and they don´t fit right, so i´ve had lots of experience in where to put the manual belts (esp. if you do get the right ones!) i have the same bolt hole up high where the seatbelt makes the loop that you are talking about. but the question is: Where would you put the lower part of the belt ass´y that retracts and locks, etc. for the auto belt setup, there is a place on the inner side of the running board where the lap belt retractor/locking mech. is bolted to the frame. you could probably bolt in the retractor/locking part down where the lap belt part came from, but that would make the seatbelts sort of angle across the doorway when it´s open, blocking access to the backseat, plus i´m not sure how it would feel when it´s on you that way. as far as i can tell, there isn´t a place to bolt up the retractor/locking mech where there should be... there should be two more bolt holes directly below the upper bolt hole, where the motor came from in the auto belt setup. let me know if anyone has had success doing this seatbelt swap!!!

You might as well just rip out your seatbelts all the way if you want to move around. A 4pt harness is only worth a damn if you´re going to strap yourself in tight... and I highly reccomend a 5 or 6 point harness to guarantee that you don´t catch the horizontal belt across your abdomen.

I´ve been thinking of trying to find a way to lock the reels down. My biggest problem is that they´re always so loose, they don´t provide any sort of support for aggressive driving (ie autocross)

I´d like to replace the automatics with manual belts, but finding a canadian car anywhere near NC is going to be tough.
