Well, I got hit on the side about a week ago and I can't open my passenger door..Im not going to total that damn car..DAMNIT! Can anyone tell me about how much it should cost to get my rear strut fixed? I'm not taking that shit to someone to get it fixed either.. In the junkyard here you can find some pretty good panels and what not..and thats all I really need. But aside from that, can I just replace that one strut or do I need to replace both?

rear quarter panel damage on escort = totalled

I can guarantee you the insurance company will total it.
Rear quarter panel damage = replace the rear quarter panel. A LOT of work to cut and re-weld it in, but it can be done and the parts are available. Honestly, take a good part of a the day with the ding king and it should reasonably take it out. It did an O.K. job on my door and it was dented in at least a good 2".

As for struts, if you really only damaged the one and want to cheap out, yeah you can change just the one. If you get a used one from the wrecker you should be fine. You'ld run into more problems if you only wanted to put a new one in on one side and kept the old one on the other.
