well the T3 finally gave out on me.... so i bought a new center housing for 175$, and an exhousing because mines cracked. the center housing is completely rebuilt with new seals,bearings, turbine shaft,wheels,balanced. i also bought the MegaSquirt and its in the mail.

-if anyone wants a 12:1 FMU i will let it go for about 70$.
-if anyone wants a T3 that leaks oil and has a cracked exhaust housing, ill sell it without the compressor housing for about 90$

i think ill be one of the only second gens with the MS system.

Sweetness! Turbo whine anymore now that you've rebuilt it? Also, do you have an ETA on the Squirt? Let me know if you want some help on it. Wiring, tuning, or whatever.

I'm going to hook up my RPM activated switch for the secondaries this weekend (hopes it works this time) and tie up some other loose ends (shifter retaining spring :oops: long story don't ask) on my scort this weekend hopefully.

so far i think me and jacobrussel are the only ones getting the MS.if you get the MS yourself, it comes with 2 built in rpm triggers that you can set to any rpm via software.

here are some of the features of the MS:
-completely customizeable fuel maps
-completely customizeable timming maps
-with mod for use with EDIS
-can use ANY injector...ANY
-eliminates the pcm and stock harness totaly
-guage readings come thru laptop
-log mode(sugest changes to maps)
-2 rpm switches
-uses a MAP sensor so you dont have to worry about the MAF ever again getting heat soaked, or who wants blow/draw thru.
-revlimiter

the mod that just came out has these features:
-launch control/revlimiter
-nos control/timer
-water spray controler
-Dual fuel tables + 12x12 ignition table
-Knock control

and it looks cool when everything coming thru on your LAPTOP.

I'll be doing the MS as well here soon. Just waiting for the Ultra to come out. Once I get that in then it's time for the head work, cam, and FI. :twisted: By the way that will make 3 Scorts on the west coast who have done the MS system. hint hint

Yeah I thought Jeff would have gotten it by now or made something exactly like it and then improved it. :p

I just need to get my GTR engine installed before I even consider any aftermarket ECU. Once I hear some good vibes from the Megasquirt system, I might go for it.

I do need to make sure I am able to pass my emmissons testing without the OBD-II Ecu running. I think there MIGHT be a way to get around it, but I need to make sure.

Talk to Jacob Russel. He is running his GTX on the MegaSquirt and will sell you on it in no time. It's actually a very impressive system and has most of the features of say a Haltech at a fraction of the cost. Also it almost seems easier to use but that might just be me. The MegaSquirt Ultra will kick Haltech's @$$ though. It's not out yet and that's what I'm waiting for. Should be ready by Q1 or Q2 of next year.

two words... MEGA-SQUIRT.

timing problems? no problem... make your own timing maps to have whatever timing you want.
running lean under boost? no problem add some more fuel to the fuel map.
not enough boost? not a problem for the ms.. it can deal with boost up to 20psi(you can get better mapsensors that will allow 30+psi.

after i seen russels car and grahm explained it all to me i was sold. it took about... what? 4 minuites to decide.

the actual ms its self is about the size of a match box. the good thing about it is: if anyone ever decides to try and steel your car, they cant drive it if you take the MS with you.. some people take their cd player faces off... i take my face AND my ms with me.

Or just plug in a palm and load a map that doesn't spark or give it fuel when you park your car. :p So many possibilities. I didn't even think of it's anti theft possibilities till you said something.

Is there anywhere to get baseline maps to start from with the MS setup? If not, it seems like there'd be alot of trial and error involved.

Actually it's got a couple of wizards that help set the baseline maps. From there you have to use trial and error to get it started if it doesn't start but it's a really easy process. Once it's started you can use MegaTune and MegaTweek to help you revise your maps. Just data log and feed it into those programs and it will suggest what to change. Then drive around and log or have a passenger make changes to the map while driving till you reach the perfect tune.






P.S. Jacob Russel and Grahm took and did an EDIS conversion to a GTX and got it started in I believe it was under 15mins.

:?: MegaSquirts just control fuel (at least last time I checked.. which was 5 minutes ago). The yet to be released MegaJolt Lite is supposed to handle EDIS ignition.

Are you using MegaSquirt II??

MegaJolt Lite Jr. sounds promising for your right now, Jeff.

no no no.. the ms can control both.. timing/fuel. BUT you must get a MOD done to your MS to get to control the edis.

im pretty sure you must have the motor off to change the maps. you have to reburn the chip with your laptop
