Have been really busy at work and haven't really done much to the car, do to no time! Today was able to do a tune up, put new valve cover gasket on and paint the valve cover, install my new oil filler cap, clean up the engine bay and add some color accents under the hood!
    Will add pics soon!

Got some pics of the engine bay work I did.

I'm working on getting a header and a couple of other things in the engine bay for now, until I have the time and all the parts to do the BP engine swap.

Sorry to hear bro! Damn CVHs!

Don't take this the wrong way... Do you like the lighted squirters? It's the only rice on the car. What rims? I have a set MR7s that look great on the EGT, just need refinishing. Notice you're rocking 9 spokes...

The water squirters lights do.t work. Had ice on car this past winter and it slid off roof and broke them. My brother in law had these squirters and gave them to me for free.
will replace when I have a chance. Forgot about them actually.
so you have an extra set of wheels?

Got a set of 1G 17" MR7s in trade, but they need work and new rubber. Put the Enkeis on my Altima, so these went on the Scort, which sits most of the time to keep from having issues. After 21 years and 215K miles, the water pump seeps when sitting(cold water leak).

Was'nt expecting to jump on the BP swap so soon, so I haven't collected all I need for the swap. So until then I have an opportunity that has come out of the clear blue. We just got a title on another 95 escort mtx wagon.
If all goes well, I might have a motor to swap in, for free of coarse, quicker than anticipated. Although a 1.9, it'll give me a chance to collect everyhting I need for the swap. It only has 155,000 miles on the odometer, but the tranny is bad. The exterior and interior are in great shape. If I can get the car for scrap prices, I'll probably part it out or sell the complete shell.
I'll post in the for sale section when and if it goes that way.

We got the title but I can only have the engine and tranny.
My boss has plans for the wagon and I can't talk him out of it.
He's going to turn it into a derby car. I'm getting the motor and tranny for free, so it's all good.
Picking the car up tomarrow and going to pull the motor next week, and hopefully do the swap. My friend at work just did a motor swap in his civic and our shop and it only took him 3 hours. hopefully he and I will do the same with my car Wed. or Thurs.
I'll take pictures of it so we can all mourn the loss of a real nice wagon to the derby.

LETS ALL BOW OUR HEADS AND TAKE A MOMENT OF SILENCE!!!

It's ashame that I can't get this thing. I'm going to grab what I can though as long as it's not metal.

As you can see from the pics I've already tore into it and have all the wires and hoses taken off and got the exhaust mani undone.
All I have to do is now undo the motor mounts and lift it out.
I'm going to start doing the same with the Pony and hopefully I'll get them swapped nxt weekend when I have off.

Hopefully this will happen smoothly with out any issues.

Been real busy at work these past 2 weeks and haven't gotten as far as I wanted to on this car. This past wednesday though i was able to get the donor engine and tranny out of the donor car, in less than 2 hrs.

and I was able to get my car up and ready to pull it's engine.
Everything is disconnected except the driveshafts and engine mounts.

Monday if all goes well I'll have the engine out, and still have time to pressure wash the bay and touch up what needs to be touched up.
Hope to have the other motor in by next weekend if the weather holds up.

This week depending on work, I'll have to switch the accessory braket for the AC delete bracket and swap around a couple motor mounts due to condition before installing the new motor.

Also while I was under the car disconnecting the lower ball joints I noticed the lower ball joints and both tie rod ends were all bad. So I'll be replacing those also before getting her back on the road.

Alright, today I was able to get some things done today.
I stripped everthing off the old engine to replace on to the new engine and am to the point that I have a Question.
I know from the haines book that you replace the tranny fluid by pooring the new fluid into the hole where the speed sensor goes.
Now my question is is where is the speed sensor and what does it look like????
Any help would be appreciated.

Follow the speedometer cable from the firewall to where it connects to the transmission. The device the speedometer cable connects to, is the VSS (speed sensor). If I remember correctly - you will remove one 10mm bolt, a bracket, and a wire connector. You can remove the speedometer cable by pushing on its retaining clip and releasing the cable (same way you remove window cranks).

EDIT: Here are pics from back when I did my SPI swap. Hope they help (click to make larger).

GL with the removal. Some have found theirs to be quite difficult to remove.

    She's alive, ALIVE!!!!!!!!
    Muuuhaaa!
Exhaust is hooked up, all hoses and wires are hooked up, new clutch is primed, new oil in, new radiator and coolant. Started up and sounds awesome! Yeah! all that is left to do is finish hooking up the suspension, hook up the new tie rod ends, lower ball joints and re install the half shafts. Runs real good and strong (Thank God).
Hopefully I'll be driving her home this weekend.
