I have read (pretty much everywhere) that the ECM and fuel pump relays on the 1995 Escort 1.9L/5spd are inside the cabin, up under the dash, hanging from the ECM cage. However, there are also two relays under the hood, passenger side, up close to the hood hinge. When I first started getting back on getting my ride started (sat for 5 years as life/moves came into play), when I installed the battery and rolled the key, those underhood relays went bonkers. Anyone know what those relays are, and if they are the ECM and Fuel Pump relays?

I have a 'Crank, no start, no fuel pressure at the rail' condition. Spraying ether into the intake and cranking got it to fire and run on whatever fumes were shot into the intake. No run/start after those fumes were used up. Trying to troubleshoot with conflicting information is a bit rough.
