I was working up north of my hometown today and on the way up to the site we were on I-69 and my partner blurts out "hey here comes your XYZ car" (meaning WRX). and here it came. baby blue with aftermarket wheels with red brake calipers. damn it was so beautiful. and then there it went. I wanted my partner to speed up and stay with it but it wasn´t to be; we came up on our exit...stupid job. I also saw a first gen EGT like 4 times today on the way to the same job. hehe

There´s a silver one in my neighborhood that comes through in the mornings. Subies have a great sound, almost industrial, due to their flat 4 engine characteristics. I can hear this guy´s blowoff valve from inside the house, so dunno if it´s stock or upgraded. Looks beautiful and will MOVE. I´ve been trying to get the wife to agree on picking up a used 2.5RS, not a WRX, but still quite a looker.

It was probably the stock blow off valve. Subaru designed that car to last, and not blow itself up. Make your wife buy the 2.5RS, it´s pretty cool too. But my WRX is the bad boy. 5.4 second 0-60. 14.1 second ETs. yeah. *drool*
That takes on Camaro Z28s. and beats Mustang GTs.

There's a Suby dealership about a mile or two from my house. I had to go up there last weekend just to go through and browse. Damn fine looking WRX STi's, I was about to ask for a test drive, until I realized they wouldn't like me to test it's off-road capabilities, and if it could drift or not.

God they're nice... Pretty good interior too.

I don't see what the big deal is. I see WRXs all the time where I live. One guy even owns two.
probably because this thread is from 2002..

I want to know what James meant when he twice referred to "partner". It seems to be a little bit of a peculiar reference, that often comes with certain preconceptions.

But other than that, this is the most unnecessary thread revival EVAR.

I have a friend, (Yes, it does happen. Weird huh?), who has an STI.
He changed over to an after marker intercooler behind the grill, removed
all the STI specific wings, driving light covers, scoops and graphics, and
cruises around waiting for people to jump his "low line" Subeast.

If this thread was much older it would be on MediCare.

There wasn't even an insinuation. I was just, um, curious.

There is no way I would ever bring any public spotlight of suspicion upon you for anything, James. That's just not my style. I mean, I always give people the benefit of the doubt and refrain from developing unbased opinions.

it is older then dirt, hmm blowing the doors off a STi? from what ive heard, and dont hold me to it was supposedly the STi was one of the fastest stock cars out then, even could buy a viper killer, oh well like the look but i think the 2006 GTO was better and faster, and now that buick is bringin back the GnX, ill be wanting to get that

wow, I didn't even notice it was brought back from the dead. I feel like an idiot for answering a bov question from 2002 after it was revived lol

I'd rock an sti as a daily if it weren't ungodly expensive. As far as a street/strip car, 13 second ET's doesn't do it for me. I'll keep racing with 20 year old toyotas and foxbodies....much more bang for the buck.
