When i put my afc in i had some issues

1. the wire for the air flow, the red wire, had a secondary wire for some odd reason. Do Not Connect it to anything, it will mess with the running condition
2. grounds, apexi says not to connect them to the body, but everyone else says to ground them anywhere, it worked better for me to connect them anywhere
3. set the cylinder selection to one, if not you'll get the wrong readings on rpm

Another tip would be to not use one.... no offense.

The SAFC is not capable of dealing with the higher voltage readings that the Mazda VAF puts out vs. "traditional" flappers. It'll be fine if you never go above 75% throttle i think was the threshold before the VAF goes way past what the SAFC can read.
