I believe that the blue ones are the better ones.... I think the S/R are just the OEM for the ZX2 (am I right) and the blue ones are definetly gonna take more abuse. I'd go with the Ground Control's personally from all that I've read... but to each his own!

Not everyone wants to spend $400 on Ground Controls.

The S/R's from what I have heard are a little more agressive then the H/P's despite being on a car as OEM. Remember it was a limited run and it also had Eibach springs on it stock as well.

I personally am going with the S/R's and Chassis Tech coilovers for now. At some point in time I may and probably will upgrade again. 8)

the only reason i was going to go with the intrax was because of the drop,if im correct both the intrax and dropzones r 1.75 front and rear, and i like the way it looks now just want a better spring and better performance...how good r those h&r?

you won't really notice any drop with eth eibachs at all.. they say 1" but i wouldn't even say its that much, handling is MUCH better though...

MazdaRacer loved his H&R springs and S/R struts. Said they were the perfect combo. He moved on to better things though.

S/Rs without a doubt.

and yes, i did really like the S/R + H&R combo (BTW, they were the MX3 H&R's)
H&R doesn't list make any sprinsg for the escort not sure about the Protege. but they do have them for the MX3 which is basically the same thing...The spring rate is probably slightly different.

I've got the mx-3 h&r's with kyb's and I really like them. They're pretty stiff, but it really handles nicely now. The drop pretty much took care of all the fender gap up front with the stock wheels and the rear tire is tucked about 1"

There is a set for the Escort/Protege. Just look on tire rack and you'll find it. But the MX3 springs are a little stiffer and better suited for the S/R struts.

it's not the engine thats heavier, it's the car as a whole.

the 2.5L V6 is VERY close to the same weight as the BP....the MX3 came with the 1.8L V6 which may even be lighter than the BP. I'm not sure if the 1.8L V6 shares an aluminum block like the 2.5L.
