hello everyone im calvin aka "gizmo". well im new here and im gonna read around and see if i find anything that could help me in the process of building a rwd ford escort 91-96.
im wanting to use everything possible out of a 1990-97 mazda miata....
i have the escort already just havent started the project.
so any info on rear subframes and front subframes would greatly be appreciated.as i said this is a project so its gonna take time on gathering the rest of the stuff.
many people say its a waste of time but its my time and money and car im doing this to so plz everyone dont steer me away from this idea.
i honestly think it would be sick to have a rwd escort 1.8 litre "possible turboapp way way way later". thnx to all who help and god speed Amen.

Im fairly certain it would suck and the only reason a normal person would want a RWD escort is if they were to drop in a V8.

That being said.... Miata is an N platform vehicle. It is a very different chassis. I dont know how close you would be for mounting points for the front subframe. I seriously doubt the rear subframe will mount to it without some fabbing.

I also cant tell you if the axles are the correct width.

I might be wrong however, I advise you to use the search button.

well the point is its just gonna be a project and im certain i will require major fabbing on the front subframe. now the rear subframe not certain im heading to the salvage yard if possible tomorrow to take some measurements on both vehicles.
now i will have to cut the firewall and subframe to fit the tranny no matter what, thats a given fact of the bat.
basically its gonna a be a one of a kind drift car and weekend warrior. and yes im gonna stick to a 4cyl motor through and through.
but i may consider a solid rear end as therieldeal mentioned "thnx by the way". well yall im out if yall hear or find anything let me know. night guys ad gals
