there would be nothing that would make one rust more than the other... both are assembled with the same metal/screws/bolts/welds... and both have the same primer and paint so basically it is impossible for 2 escorts (in same conditions its whole life as mentioned before) for one to have a worse rust problem than the other. that is of course also decided on how its driven... if people take it mudding like that srt4 video your prone to devlope rust where the mud and cakes all moist and wet over rock chips and stuff... but if just street vehicles no they cannot have a worse rust problem...
also i thought the thread was going to be more a "should i get a rusty gt or keep my lx" kinda thing, which in that case if you like to drive fast and hard yes and if you dont care for speeding tickets but you want a decient car no.
Yeah, almost all of the clearcoat on my red 91 GT is gone, but I saw a newer LX and the hood was still perfect. I don't really have terrible rust compared to what you're saying, just the typical quarter panel rust.
maryland's the shizzle for cars. I got my 3000GT there and it's absolutely spotless. No rust anywhere... and it's 10 years old too. I picked it up in chestertown. Chezturrtown in da hizzouze!! *raises roof*
