I was just woken up by my father because he had to tell me he just put fucking crease down my drivers side with the bumper on his 1983 Oldsmobile Regency Ninety-Eight. He said he'll pay to get the body work fixed and repainted but i dunno how repairable this damage is. I'm going back to sleep, i'll post pictures later. Grrr i'm pissed.

if it's just a light crease without any real bending of structural stuff ...then it'll be a fairly easy fix for the shop.

Good luck :)

I don't want to be an a-hole, but with a car like yours... who gives a isht? Don't mean to offend... just keepin' it real.
Well apparently I do. I mean, this IS a ford escort owner forum. It's my hobby and project car, of course I want to keep it from further becoming damaged.

The crease is not that bad at all, in all honesty... but it's annoying that my dad put it there. He's paying to fix it. 350$ to press out the crease and sandblast/bondo/reshape and paint my rear quarterpanels. So atleast I get my quarterpanels fixed out of this. I have pictures that I took i'll stick em up in a little bit I just got up.

This shot has the perpetratator of an oldsmobile in the background.

Here's another shot of the steel beast with my scort after my father went in reverse with frosted over windows after just waking up incident.

That ain't bad at all? c.c;
My car's got a couple small dents like that on it too. If I got more insurance money I'd spend it either not on the car or on suspension or something to make it drive better. I quit caring about dents, you get 'em fixed and then another jackoff hits your car or you hit someone. :?

I like the color of your escort, Coyote-x.

Oh -- and i'm not so much worrying about it, i'm moreso mad that my dad was a retard and let that happen. I know he's a better driver then that. Im mostly mad about it because it didn't HAVE to happen, and I had nothing to do with it. You know? Situations like that irk me severely, cause there is nothing I can do but fix the damn thing or be pissed off. I don't care if i'm treating my escort like it's a 2005 Ford GT... because it's my project and it's my responsibility to take care of it.

Thanks. Heh. I call it 'cop repellant.'

Anyways, the last dent I got from someone passing me on a residential street and scraping across my front. Did more damage to him than to me, but the insurance companies deemed it was both our faults so neither of us got any money. Which just really pisses me off, because that's such a BS way to get out of paying your customers what you owe them. Everybody loses except 'the man.' This was two months after I got in an accident which almost totaled the car, and got it fixed to near perfect, except for the left headlight which didn't match the right. That's what shows in my sig pics.

Currently, the headlight lets moisture in so it's like completely fogged over, and the reflector inside is just rattling around. The front bumper has small hole just big enough to slide a pencil through and the right fender is dented in about a half inch along the front half. There's a pic on my car domain site somewhere or other.

It's funny that you referred to your car color as "Cop Repellent"

Whenever a cop rolls up on me and then goes away me and my best friend always exclaim, "Tan Escort Wagon Power!!!"

It really is Cop repellent. They expect to see a senior citizen driving a tan escort, not some snotnose kid who races Prizms and Corsica's up and down main street all day.

Don't get mad at your dad; get even.

How about a shot to the windshield with an 8 pound sledge?

Dads suck. Who needs 'em anyway?
I've been contemplating the Regency's demise for a while now, but dad wouldn't let me turn it into a d-derby car, and then he broke the front axle on it and ended up paying WAYYY TOOO MUCH to get it fixed, so I'd feel bad if I dropped a sledge on the windshield... in fact he just got the regency back two weeks ago. plus that car is probably hard to fsck up... it's a huge steeel box on wheels.

I like your attitude!!!! I spend 7 hours alone washing my car by hand, buffing the paint by hand, and waxing it..... by hand. Bottom line, it is your car, and your property. Your property reflects your personality. If you are a generally messy person, you're going to have a shitty looking car... because you just don't give a shit. No matter what kind of car it is, it's worth alot of money..... I don't know about you, but I don't have the money to replace a car worth thousands of dollars every few years. Now some people do. And so they just don't give a shit. Like these guys I see driving a 1 year old Escalade with huge chromes that are dirty as hell, dirty looking cracked/beat up leather, and smashed up body panels/smashed out tail lenses. It's a sad thing to spend $50k on a vehicle, and then beat the **** out of it and have to drive it when it looks like you raced it in a demolition derby last week. I'd rather beat the **** out of it and then drive it looking like it just rolled off the showroom floor!!

Er... once again... just keeping it real:

If I were you, I'd get the rust fixed first. The dent is hardly noticable in comparison to the ruse on the wheel wells.

I've got nothing wrong with you working on your car... I just think that your priorities may be a little skewed. I'm just trying to help you out, that's all.

perfectly worded, i definitely second that notion.

jamie, sorry to hear about the damages undergone to your scort. i definitely know what it's like to feel the wrath of the other daily driver's capabilities (or lack there-of) on how to maneuver a 1-2 ton piece of machinery known as automobiles.
but hey, unlike all those other drivers, your dad is at least going to take on the cost of repairs. i've had a few hit & runs that i have dealt with in the past.
