Does anybody know what roof bike racks would work on my 95 wagon? I really need one for my bmx bike because I always want it with me places.

Check Yakima web site or Thule for fitment on your particular make and model, get a list of towers, clips , crossbars, bike holders. Then check out craigslist or ebay for the cheapest prices, new would be several hundred dollars.

I've used both Yakima and Thule for mountain and road bikes on several cars, and Yakima stuff is more available and cheaper in long run.

u can get a roof rack from any 2nd or 3rd gen wagons

^You have got to be joking right? The factory rack is plastic and flimsy as all get out. If you put a bike on it it would rip off the car the moment you went around a corner.

duh, that's what bungee cords r for. put the bike on the car upside down, strap it and ur good to go.

to jugalo, im looking for the mounting thing that goes on those, just the bike holder part, i think like the other guy said about the thule might be a good choice but i already have the stock roof racks i just need the upright bike one

Most bike trays, you have to remove the front wheel. They will attach to factory crossbars on oem rack. They do make trays that will fit the bike upright w/ both wheels, but as you said the factory rack stuff is a little flimsy.

I am a bmx'er { racer} and I used to go to bethel ct and other tracks in ct. but I am guessing you are a freestyle or dirt jumper guy, maybe.

can you tell me what the stock weight for my 96 escort is. I want to know if i would be able to put one of 2 kayaks on it. (they are about 40 pounds each)

Not sure what the weight it can handle is, but i've had three bikes strapped to the top which weighed about 20 pounds each. No problems there when you got the right tie-downs. No bungees! lol
