So friday at 2:00 I get a call, let's go to Chicago for the undergroung film fest. I say yes, and leave town at 5:30. Half way there and the highway stops for the nice view, an important view, of a police officer with a wrecker pulled over for an improperly marked load. Rubberneckers. I slow to about 20 mph and this Geo Metro fills my mirrors... fast. No slowing down. I let off the brakes and start to swerve... when WHAM I am sent flying past the line of slowed cars. Thats the fastest my car has ever accelerated. Ha Ha. It will take some work but it is fixable. I got lucky his little car only got my bumper, tail panel, floor, and folded the deck lid but did not hurt any lights. After beating the car with the spare tire for my hammer the trunk finally closed again. We got to Chicago and had a blast. The film fest was cool and I got to street ride my mountian bike ( which was in the rear of the car as i have eliminated the rear seats for space). The car took quite a hit and it still drives good, I just need to find that rain leak.

He was reaching for a map and never slowed. I think he was about 20 mph faster than the scort. If I would have been on the brakes we would be done but I just got a good boost like in bumper cars. His was drive able but looked real bad. We had to wait a long time for different officers because the one that was there was a Weigh Master and only does trucks. We both only had pl/pd. If we are slow at the body shop next week.... well.....we'll see.

We were lucky, it was a last minute choice to leave the other 2 bikes ( which would have been on my rack ). I was really mad for about 5 minutes and when I saw the bike and everyone was fine I was ok. I have twice as much money invested into my downhill racing bike than the scort! Both front seats bent back about 6 - 8 inches (I thought I was uncomfortable when we started driving again), and with no back seat my passenger was seatbelted into a bean bag for a seat. One of the best things.... The force of the impact knocked an allen wrench set out from under my seat that I have not found for 3 weeks (when did I put it in the car)? But all in all everyone was allright and the cars still drive able. I have had the car less than 1 year and this will be the third fix. Exgirl took out driver door and B piller, friend hit curb and took out driver suspention, and now the rear. I will put up photos when I repair it again (hopefully later this week).

P.S. are there any bike riding escort owners around Ann Arbor MI. I want to go for a ride, on road or off does not matter.
