I beat an old 1980's Monte Carlo. I was driving downtown where I probably had no business being and this old rusty thing that looked like it'd been maybe lowered, with those wheels that spin after you stop moving pulls up to me with the stereo on full blast.

We stop at a stoplight and he yells something but I can't understand him because his stereo is too loud. Then he turns it down and yells again and apparently he is making fun of my new car!!!

Well, I won't have any of that, so I put it into first gear and rev the engine, floor it, then drop the clutch at around 5000 rpms and the tires scream. He floors his and they slide but don't make as much noise, and we're off. I wind out the rpm's through every gear and by the time I hit 6000 in third I'm pretty far ahead of him. I don't know how much in carlengths but I could see him shrinking in my rear view mirror.

So I turned and hightailed it out of that part of town back onto the highway as soon as I could find an exit and I didn't see the car again. When I got home I gave my car a pat of appreciation. Good escort. ^_^

I'm pretty sure it was one of the bad ones. It was so rusty though I couldn't have seen whether it ever had an 'SS' attached to it or not. It had chrome bumpers though, not the plastic ones that the SS had, and it was beige colored. (Sort of, most of it was rust colored)

Do you know where Olive is? I was driving all the way down it. It starts out sort of near my house but then goes down into a kind of bad... Well maybe not bad but... Okay, it does go down into a bad part of St. Louis. Maybe it's not that bad and I'm just imagining it but it's a sort of scary place.

Thats the thing about cars that are 15-20 years old, they may have been faster than your scort when they were new, but if they aren't maintained properly, then you have an easy kill. but remember, the opposite is true as well - so take care of your scort, and it will take care of you. Congrats on the kill.
