7250 is the rev limit of the svt (as far as i know)
-if your only making a total of 120 hp durring that entire 2500rpm range, thats not verry good. is it like.. from 0-3000 it makes like.. 70 hp then from 3000-5500 it makes like 120 and then from 5500-9000 it makes like... 150 actual whp.. then from 9000-16000 it makes like 658whp N/A ..thats one hell of a curve.James92Scort said:i make 120 hp at the wheels from 3000-5500, then the high lobes kick in and I'll make another 20ish to the wheels till 7600 rpm.
So are you saying I can rev my SPI past the 6000RPM redline and it won't damage anyhthing? 8OPonyExpress said:yeah james, but it doesnt make any power until 5000rpm.
i was pretty gosh darn sure the GTX redline was 6500 and rev limiter was 6750..
fuel cutout/rev limiter on the 1.9s is 6250, but mine doesnt always kick in. sometimes my upgraded valvetrain forces the engine to spin higher if i make it.
the 1.9s internals are fine at the higher rpm, honestly theyre good for at least 6500-7000rpm, but its the puny stock valvetrain that is the weak point.
my new lifters dont float til 7200rpm, which is nice except i dont typically rev that high anyways.
a stock 1.9 has no business anywhere past 5500rpm, the power falls off after that. the SPI holds on at least til redline before it falls.
Woah for some reason i am afraid to rev mine past 6000RPM..i don't wanna float a valve or anythin quite yet. What is the redline on the 3rd gens that come with the SPI...Is it the same as the 2nd gen 1.9Lmarclar said:rev limiters suck.. you gotta go faster faster faster..
but ya i wind my spi out to 6500 at least 5 times a day and its still chuggin along.
