I don´t know if you guys have really looked at this, and maybe some of you have done it. I was looking around teamZx2.com, and under the mods, there is a section under the acceleration that says removing the resonator will give you a great gain in horsepower. I tried it last night, and I noticed a HUGE horsepower gain, and I only removed the lower one. It took about 20 minutes, and was really easy. Have any of you guys tried this?

Yup, I have, I didn´t notice too much of a change, but I suspect I will once I get a better air filter (K&N seems to be the best from what I´ve heard). Another thing I like is the deep throaty sound my car now has.

Running header to 3 inch pipe'n to cat then to a free flowing exhaust. Big difference in low end and really in high end … nothing like shift`in .. at 6000 to 7000
It just makes you enjoy whining out of the gears… I especially chariest 4th out of 6000rmps … going 140km into 5th ...

Under some what "normal driving" I tend to shit at 5000

unless i´m doing highway driving or making a turn onto a busy road I don´t wind my car out to 7000, I usually shift right around 4500 to 5000. That is where the 1.8Ls torque peaks. so i just use that and it gets me where i need to go

yeah i pulled mine out and it was loader and the pedal was more responsive. the actual gains in power i feel are very miniscule unless you were running a modified engine that demanded lots of air. It also gave my scort a rough and inconsistent idle so i stuck it back in. man how i miss the WAAAAAAHHHHHHHH lol.

I´m confused. Is this resonator we´re talking about intake or exhaust? :-?
