F1 - you know, the one where the big boys play! ;-)

Actually, most of those F1 jockies are little guys to be able to fit in the cars and keep the weight down

Besides, isn´t it usually the insanely richly-backed guys that make it to F1? :-|

Actually no, not always, Justin Wilson earned his drive from F 3000 and is well over six feet tall! (If David Coulthard heard remarks like that, he would have a fit). Firman is by no means "insanely richly-backed" - he too earned his stripes through the Brit system as did many of the drivers today, including Kimi who was spotted by Ron Dennis as being the best driver to take Mika´s place in the team - how right he was. F1 is the one all race-drivers aspire to - Montoya, Zinardi, DeMatta (can´t spell, sorry) have all joined F1, however without much success, as yet. IMHO F1 drivers are the "big boys" of racing!
Of course, the more "lowly" teams have to rely on their drivers bringing huge sponsorship with them, which is one of the reasons why the powers-that-be have made so many rule changes to prevent such teams being at a total disadvantage: so far this strategy appears to be having the desired result.
I do appreciate that the US, on the whole, has little interest in F1, but judging from the huge attendance at the US Grand Prix over the past two seasons, a large number are very interested indeed.
