Thought I'd pass along - those of you with pinstripes....get rid of them! Mine were scratched up so decided to pull them off. Lucky they were plastic stripes, not painted. I enlisted my daughter and her friend to spend about 30 minutes last night pulling them off. Followed up with some polishing compound and a good scrub. Looks awesome now. Saw it under the flourescent light and it shines.

Once I get my bumper fascia completed, I'll take new pictures and post.

Another thing, I installed a grounding kit on my car. Didn't purchase anything, I already had the cable and the cable ends. Heard about how this would work with any car and how it could help with the engine smoothness. Installed grounds off right side chassis to intake manifold, to throttle body, and left side chassis to distributor, airflow meter, transmission, ignition coil. I did NOT notice any power increase, however, the engine does run smoother and pulls cleaner through the power band. No hiccups like before. I look forward to taking it out on the highway tonight.

For what it's worth - the grounding mod does work, but it works to make your car run smoother, not necessarily more powerful. And it's cheap too. Consider it preventive maintenance for possible future problems with electrical issues.

Unless I've forgotten everything I know about cars, the pinstripes are the little stripes on the paint of a car. My escort has two little ones that run parallel to each other. One is red the other is gray.

removed pinstripes................................

Pinstripes are small about 1/8 " wide , usually 2 in number that run near the top of your fender ,the length of the car . most are complimentary to the stock colour . my escort which is black has silver and gold pinstripes . my mothers escort which is white has no stripes at all . pinstripes are all about looks they set off the body lines of a car . not all cars have pinstripes ! they are as I say purely cosmetic , flash ,if you will . hope this helps some . if not I tried to help . In my case, all the 'flash' did was draw unwanted attention to itself. They were torn, missing in some places. I finally just got tired of looking at them. The body looks a lot cleaner now, after buffing with polishing compound it really looks nice without them. Nice shiny wheels, perfect paint, lovely. Went to a show tonight in DC, about an hour and a half drive each way, felt like I had the prettiest car on the road.
