Hey everybody, i just found your forum. Its a very nice website. Its hard to find any Ford Escort information on internet.

So, I'm putting in shape my Escort '98 keeping it as original as possible. I got the SE rear spoiler and the 14' rims.

But I have a question: is any like, meassure, to follow, when installing the spoiler? I mean, should i worry about the place or will it look the same wherever i put it?

A couple of questions (about the interior):

    1. Can I install a cruise control in a '98 manual?
    2. Can I install the dashboard that has the tachometer? I think its the Wagon and SE one.

Thanks for the help, I'll try to upload some pictures of my car.

I will be removing my factory spoiler in the next day or two. I can post some pics and measurements if you'd like.

    1. CC yes, it was a factory option on manuals.
    2. tach dash yes.

    Car looks pretty clean.

Remember measure several times, then cut/drill holes.

The "oval" hole on either side is 4 3/4" from the side and about 4" from where the top of the trunk starts to bevel you can see the bevel glinting in the pic)

The size of the oval is 3/4" front-to-back and 1" side-to-side.

Thanks a lot man. I really appreciate your picture and meassures.

The only thing is that I'm not sure that mine is the same spoiler, or is it? Here are some pictures.

Because when I saw the guy at the junkyard taking out it from a ZX2 I didn't saw that the car had that oval hole. I thought it was some kind of bracket or support.

Again, thank you for your help!

It looks the same from the top but has a different mounting pattern. That oval hole is for the white clip. The next thing I would suggest is to find the center of the trunk and the spoiler then measure your holes from center. The front to rear location of the spoiler is really up to you.

Hey man, I'm also about to change my '14 steel rims for the '14 SE alluminium ones (I think i saw your car with the same ones); but I have a question about the best tires for those rims. In my steel ones I have 185-75-14, I want to get new tires too, so i would appreciate if you recommend me what's the best ones for those rims.

    Thanks!

Well, I usually just stick with economy tires. I believe 185-65 is the standard size from the factory. Your steel tires should fit just fine if your looking to save cash.

Do you have any picture of your ride in the '14 SE rims?

I was thinking about 195-70-14 in the rear and 185-70-14 in the front, but i dont know if that could be possible.

I would like to have wide tires in the rear. How does that sound?

Hey man, how are you doing?

I was checking your post about your car, and I saw you were about to put reverse lights in the front bumper as fog lights, does it fits good because of the shape?

Because if it fits i want to get a pair of rev lights to put them on mine.

    Thanx!

Yeah, the shape is a good fit in the bumper, but you have to mod the rev light for fog bulbs and figure out how to mount them. I have not messed with them in awhile.:(
