The exp could have any number of the regular escort motors aside from the diesel, the air box, cat, plugs, shocks, struts and so on are all the same. The problem is that the exp tends to be more optioned out so trx suspension package and the ho were far more common on the exp. The only real difference on the exp was the body and door panels. The exp is modified 2 door sedan so the doors, panels and most of the body work is different. Mechanically there the same.
different Air boxes for 86. one for carb, one for pulse air injection , one for smog pump equipped, and no one knows which is which but folks like us.

Got any idea on where to get bushings for all this. For the rear that is. Part numbers?
Most parts places don't stock the rears anymore, some times they pop of on ebay other wize your have to get them form the UK. However if you don't mind poly bushings you can buy universal poly bushing, your have to take the old bushing off and make sure what size they are.

But motor for motor its the same. The boxes are the same for all escort motor for motor of the same year. So CFI box will fit a 2 door, 4 door, or EXP if they all have to same motor if they are from the same year.
But yes, no one seems to know the difference from trim leaves on these cars aside from us, ran into that with rock auto a few times.

I concede. I'm buying two rear shocks from UK only because if one is bad of three i still have two and hopefully a matched set. I cleaned the lower control arm so far found ALL bushings on E-bay. Purple metallic for the control arm, alignment bar, shock rod and sway bar.
