I just got back about an hour ago from the Red Hot Chili Peppers Concert. That shit was fuckin out of hand. I have been playing drums for about 10 years, and Chad Smith blew my fuckin skull off. Not to mention Flea almost made me piss myself.
I have seen probably over a 100 bands live in my lifetime, and I must say its been a long time since I have seen anything that incredible. The last time I saw a show like that was probably....fuck...i dunno....Wide Mouth Mason and ZZ top in Edmonton. I hope you American folk know Wide Mouth Mason, cuz they kick ass.
anyway, this concert made me want to reach new levels with my band. We are already one of the most original cover bands in Calgary. I say that because, we play alot of sonsg by popular artists, but we dont neccasairly play the popular songs from that band that you would expect.
anyway, that whole band is stupid amazing. I am so glad that john Frusciante is back with the peppers. He suites theres style more than Dave Navarro did.
dont get me wrong Dave Navarro is an incredible guitar player. The stuff he does with Janes Addicion is unreal. But that is where he belongs. The meter and melody that Flea and John Frusciante create is overwhelming. John Frusciante is meant for the funk, and Dave Navarro was just ment to rock it out. I havent seen anything like that since Jag and Christian Tanna from I Mother Earth(another amazing Canadian band who has the second best melody and meter between two musicians that I have ever seen.)
Anyway, I just wanted to comment on the show for now, and hopefully hear some feedback from anyone else who has seen them live lately..
