I have a 98 se wagon without cruise control. I do allot of highway commuting so cruise is greatly missed. I've read bitterkd's post which seems like the best explanation on here for an install guide. https://www.feoa.net/threads/how-to-install-aftermarket-cruise-control-in-a-3rd-gen.36589/ Only trouble I'm having is that he used an Audiovox CCS-100 which is hard to come by now and therefore well overpriced. I've seen the rostra kits but it's hard to justify $250 on cruise when that's nearly a fourth of the cars value. However, I have seen a EQUUS 9000B for $100 on ebay. I'm wondering if everything is the same on the EQUUS as the Audiovox to where I can still use bitterkd's guide. Anyone on here install the EQUUS on an escort?

those are excellent questions. not sure if anyone here has done that modification. what i can tell you, is that in my experience, it is not a good idea to 'cheap out' on something that has direct control of your throttle system.

i have the dealer installed ford unit available which i can sell for the wagon/4-door setup. It is complete and requires no additional parts for the install. The only thing you would have to do is remove the aftermarket parts you have

again, the setup i have is the Ford dealer installed unit which uses Ford parts

    $100 shipped

Thanks for the offer. I would be very interested in that. How would the installation differ from the explanation in bitterkd's post? I'm quite a novice in the electrical realm.
