alright, i own a 86 escort gt 1.9l 5spd...

i just bought a 91 escort lx 1.9l 5spd...

now is there anything compatible between these 2? like exhaust, rims, tires..spark plugs/wire.....just anything in general?

I would think you could probably put your 86 H.O. Heads on the 91, same engine size but I´m not sure about the bolts and all. Try it, what do you have to lose besides some head gaskets and some time you were going to waste playing your PS2 anyway?

1st gen 1.9HO = bigger valves, and unshrouded valves, domed pistons.
2nd gen 1.9 SEFI = smaller valves, shrouded valves, flat pistons.

Putting a 1.9HO head on an SEFI engine would lower the compression a bit since the valves are unshrouded. Great for turbo applications, but for N.A. apps you should change to the domed pistons if you put an HO head on.

Rims = No match

Exhaust = header from HO will bolt up, but some modifications will have to be done to make it mount with the rest of the exhaust system. The rest I´m sure is different.

Spark plugs = should be the same, wire will be different due to the fact the the SEFI uses distributorless ignition.

Suspention = no matches that I know of

i know this has been asked like 10000000 times, but, where can i find some form of body kit....could i just swap a 91 gt front end,sides, and rear on? or if i could find a what 92?-95? front...would that go right on? or is there modification needed......

i know that none of my cosmetics are going to happen in the winter, but, when some rolls around, i´m having it repainted and all, so if i could get the body kit, and maybe a gt style wing, and get it all painted at once...

so, right now, i´m swapping my 86 parts...such as, nozzle lights, shift knob and boot, cd player,fog lights....and......tires when the time comes....

there has to be something else i could use off it.....would the batteries match up???? how bout the coil?

if anyone thinks of anything else that is transferable let me know.........

All the gt body parts of the 91-96´s will fit lx´s also. Front and rear bumpers are an easy swap. For the sides look for 93-96 sides cuz they look better and are easier to swap. There´s no body kit readily available besides that, so your kinda out of luck in that department. The battery should swap, but the coil won´t. The 91-96´s use distributorless ignitions which have a coilpack unlike the 1st gens which have a single coil and distributor.
