I've got a question for slapyo -

I'm looking at your cardomain site and I see you're running a mid 14 at a trap speed of 97. Is that normal for Mustangs? When a Subaru traps a 97mph, it's a mid-low 13.

A mid [email protected] just seems a bit like a FWD car's time.. a friend's SHO ran a 14.6 @ 96 with a not-so-good launch.. and he thought that was a high trap speed for his time..

it is about right for the trap speed. i am practicing my launches and shift points. my friend has a dyno and we were doing some 1/4 mile simulations on it. we have it figured out where i should launch and shift when i goto the track. hopefully i will be able to bring it down some. people say i should be able to hit around 14.0 to 14.1 with my setup.

keep in mind man, lot of it comes from reaction time and the first few seconds. I've seen cars w/ shitty trap speeds pull out ahead of ppl who had better trap speeds because they got them at the line.

A lightened flywheel, tall geared transmission, quick reatcion can all increase the 1/8th times way ahead of a heavier beefier car. Racing the quarter is mostly about quickness, not speed.
