i heard that the 95 has diff and better pistons then the other gts, also heard the 95gt has a HO engine comp any truth to any of this oh yea do u know where i can find some dome top pistons? and whats the best racing piston rings i can get for no forced induction motor for my 93egt dirt racecar also if u know of anthing else bigger cams lighted shaft ect...thanx in advance im goin all out this year so i would apprecaite the help[/url]

you have to cut the collector off and weld it to the rest of your exhaust, I recommend just cutting your whole down pipe off and getting a nice 2 inch mandrel bent 90 degree elbow and cut the 95up/kia header so it's a 2 inch opening, weld your down pipe in place, and unbolt it and finish welding it up, then you gotta put an oxy bung in place on your down pipe, it's a quite involved job but easily doable in 1 day with a good cut off wheel, and welder, and some know how!

What the hell? All he has to do is take it off one car and put it on the other. You just have to use the down pipe flex peice that the 02 bung is in. It will bolt right up. No moding, cutting or welding needed. What are you going on about?

yeah what he said! im a bit confused as to where the kia header came out of 95egt.

sorry I shoulda been more specific. I used the kia header since the 95up GT wasn't around in my junkyards so I just got the kia header, it's the same thing. and yes you can just get the down pipe and it bolts right into your exhaust but the down pipe is tiny it's like 1.75 inches, so if you want some good flow outta the header hack off the collector on the header and get rid of the down pipe and weld it into the rest of the exhaust.

here's what I did...


the down pipe is 2.5 inches and the rest is all 2 1/4 pipe, high flow cat, it's easy enough to put an oxy bung in there too that's simple if you have the tools to do it!

sorry for the confusion guys, it's possible to just take the tubular header off the 95 to 96 GT or the kia sephia I believe 94-97 and get the header and down pipe then it's direct bolt in. punch it out to at least 2 inches and it's waaaay better.

^^^ I don't think that's the 96 manifold. At least not how I remember mine.

I don't think I have a picture of my old EGT manifold, but it didn't look like that. (or I'm getting too old)

just buy a header lol why the fuss? if ya dont got the ability or resources to make one..like most of us here, buy one
