I dont know how many people have seen this, but is the 1.8L in the kit the Sohc or the DOHC like the EGT? Because if it was for the DOHC wouldnt this work with our EGT's? But i take it its for the SOHC otherwise there would be more talk of this on the board.

Ya i was talking about this one
Protégé FSD 1.8L T25 - - MP2502-EXT $2579
I wonder what people with protege's and miata's do for computers, do they have to do a piggy back like us? It sounds like the miata's have a plug in thing, but i dont know, im pretty sure the miata ecu would be quite different.

You could just get a GTX turbo manifold and build up from there. It would be a heck of a lot cheaper. Cruise over to Corksport and you'll find the manifold there. Might take a little while for them to get them in though.

There were 2 1.8L proteges I believe. One was SOHC and completely different than the Escort GT. The other was exactly like the BP we know.

Miata manifolds should work. They have a BP with the same bolt pattern at least. I also suggest getting a miata turbo header and finding your parts separately. Probably cheaper and more fine tuned.

miata intake is diffrent evo, since the motor sits front to back, the intake comes from the front, there intake manifold is opposite direction from protege and egt.

Are the bolt positions the same? Can't you just take a GT intake manifold and stick it on there.

And I was actually referring to the exhaust manifold before so sorry for the confusion.

^^Right there people. Want a manifold for the GT it's right there^^ Yes there were two different 1.8L in the Protege. I know because I had the SOHC 1.8. Should have kept it too but oh well. And actually I believe that the manifold will bolt to either one. I know that the intake is the same. The only thing really different is the lack of the second cam and 24 more horses.
