I've got E36 headlights on my GT right now. It's definetly not "plug and play". The right way to do it involves stealing a top brace from a bmw, modiying the grille holder, parking lamp holders, modifying the headlight brackets, etc...
is there anyway to make the light look "bmw style" without doing much or any harm/mods? Also, whats the bulb size for escort headlamps...cause i wanna get those bright white bulbs...they hard/easy to install? Please have pity on me o great gurus...i am only a newbie....HAIL ERGT GURUS!
Well being that "i never help the site out" and my post are just "quanity and dont have quality" i couldnt tell you that the escort bulbs are 9004 and that you should get some piaas for a decent. fairly cheap white look.
Does anyone know whats going on with the headlights from zxtuner?
In a word, no. You can do retarded paint-on circle stuff that some people have done, and it just looks even worse then it did before...
just take the afternoon off, find a junker BMW and a welder, and take your time and do it right. If I had the money I'd buy some 5-series headlights and put in my angeleyes (I actually have a set if anybody's interested in buying them) becuse you can't open the housing of the "old" E36 lights I have.
I didn't know you actually had the angeleyes siragan. How much would you sell them for? I was thinking about doing some crazy shit to make my EGT not look exactly like an EGT anymore.
~Onderground rear bumper and sideskirts
~~Ford Laser grille and front bumper OR custom built and fiberglassed front bumper
~~BMW headlight conversion
~~shaved everything except door handles
~~WR Blue Pearl paint job
~~Mille Miglia HT3 16x6.5" rims wrapped with Kumho Ecsta rubber
Not to mention making my car act like a Camaro SS pulling 13s in the quarter mile on my rebuilt and turbocharged & intercooled 1.8 GT-x
I think after lookin at the pic of your E36 headlamps that they would fit better on a bumper that is flat like the Laser bumper instead of having that little bump in the center to bring it together with the grille. Then I can take these headlights and throw them on the LX I'm hopefully getting from 1-quik-phkr.
James: The angeleyes I will let go for 65 shipped. They come with 4 rings and 8 white LEDs already wired up and ready to go.
I know it isn't cheap, but they are the genuine angeleyes, not the polycarb imitation ones on ebay that are really shitty in comparison.
The ones I have are very very solid feeling, the light output is fantastic, and they've never been used. I've only lit up the LEDs once to test it out, and they're sweet.
I actually am a flashlight collector (I know, that sounds retarded, but I love them) and here's a pic of me holding it up to a half-dead lightwave 3000 I own.
You can eaisly ask the guys over at candlepowerforums.com to hook you up with not only much more powerful LEDs, but also neat voltage regulation systems so you can hook them up to your car. I was planning on doing some neat stuff with them, but I ended up just not wanting to mess up my headlight housing by tearing it apart to put in the rings, so I trashed the idea.
And what if you'd get the headlights from a Asuna Sunfire ...i dont know if they would fit..but we could try!?!?!?! i guess they would cost less than then BMW ones...i'll try to find a pic of the car, cauz i don't know if you have this car in the US...i think so..but just to be sure...
Nah the 9004 bulbs aren't too hard to install. Don't really even take 5 minutes unless your bulbs are stuck in there like mine were the first time i changed mine. In that case just get a screw driver and pry them out.
Aite...what can u mod to the lights or get new lights that'll take little time....cause i'm still quite new to the mod stuff and i don't wanna fvck anything up with my car...but i wanna make it look sweet....any suggestions guru?
