Ok, I know this is going to open a HUGE can of worms, but I´m going to ask this, anyway.

My 10-year-old Alpine 3527S just crapped out, fellas. I find myself, unexpectedly, in the amplifier market. I am looking at 4-channel amps to be used as a 3-channel with the front two channels driving Soundstream Granite 5.25 components, the rears bridged to a 10" sub, and the deck driving the rear fill.

I want quality sound for a reasonable price, I don´t want trash-bump power. My favorite sound, at present, is Audison, but the price is a bit much(if you haven´t heard the combination of Audison/Focal, you owe it to yourself...clean, detailed, and unbelievably crisp). Others in the running are Eclipse, Diamond Audio, Memphis Car Audio, Phoenix Gold, and although I would enjoy the cost savings of catalog, or online purchasing, I try to keep my money with the local economy, so my choices will be limited. Any thoughts on the above, or other suggestions? I find it very difficult to find amp tests/reviews online, so any thoughts there might be helpful, as I like to do as much research as possible.

Thanks so much for the assistance, guys.

Marcus

Yeah, Audison. It is supposedly hand-made in Italy. Regardless, it is the finest sound quality I have ever experienced, bar none. Rich, clean, strong, detailed, everything I want in sound equipement, but the price. The 4-channel that I would like is a whopping $699.00 at my local dealer. Sheeez! That´s alot of scratch for a friggin´ amp.

I checked most of them out, today, and am leaning toward the Eclipse. It is hard to beat their sound quality per dollar. There are two levels of amps in thier line. I can do the 5-channel of the lower line for $350.00, or the 4-channel in the top-of-the-line for $400.00. That just might be the ticket.
