I know about corksport, and how you can buy these motors from them, even though it my take forever for them to find one, but i was wondering if I were to go to a junkyard, what year cars have these motors, and what are my chases to find one, or is it just better to recondetion a GT motor and turbo it, rather then buy a GTX-R :?:

I have a '91 GT, I have a, custom, mult-shade red paint job, from year in the sun, and I want to keep with the sleeper look, until I make the engine to fast for the cars body, then I may fix it up.

You can get the GTX engine out of a 91-?? Mazda 323 GTX. It's got the turbocharged 1.8: w/ 180 hp and AWD. Good luck finding one. They're extremely rare...but they make a better sleeper than an Escort would anyday of the week.

The GTX engine will have a casting stamp of BPT, while the GT-R engine will have a casting stamp of BPD.
A clue to help identify the BPD vs the "common" BPT engines is the air inlet off the turbo (it's aluminum on BPD/plastic on BPT).
The GTR was never available in the USA, it is a Japanese import.
