ok..... so my friend's dad has been working at ford for like, 20 something years now, in powertrain design..... which i believe makes him the best candidate to help me port my cylinder heads
so anyways, with my stock mazda bp engine i have in my 94 egt, what kind of power increase (please specify crank hp or fwhp) could i expect if he did a sweet job on it...... also, if i got a set of injectors from an rx7, what would that do for me? also, just curious, but what kind of perf. increase (hp?) would i get from a perf. cat? and THEN, i don't know all the options that were ordered on my car. was there a limited slip option available on the 94 gts? because i think i've had both tires smoking, but i can't tell. i do get some torque steer on hard accelerations, when i realease the clutch in 2nd gear.

ALSO, let's say THEORETICALLY i wanted to yank the handbrake doing about 30 mph and do a 180...... but it doesn't seem as if the tires really lock up like i would like them to. maybe i wouldn't be turning hard enough, or maybe i should turn sooner BEFORE i yank the e-brake?????

I would say so... :p

I'd say probably about 10-15 hp from a GOOD PnP job, however, a PnP Job helps mostly with the higher rpm power and wouldn't do anything for low rpm torque. Mainly though, you'll notice an increase in your gas mileage because the engine doesn't have to work so hard to breathe.

Probably not a whole hell of a lot unless you also upgrade your fuel pump (recommend the Walboro 255 lp/h pump for any FI) and mess around with some sort of Forced induction or N20 system.

Depends on if you plan on getting a performance catback exhaust system, say 2 1/4 for NA or 2 1/2 for any FI.

No LSDs were available on any 2G GTs, they were equipped with equal length half shafts that make it seem like an LSD is equipped on the car. I do recommend the Quaiffe (sp?) if you want to get an LSD, You'd need the half shafts from an MX6 (I believe) to equip one onto your stock EGT tranny.

Why would you want to do this anyway? Ok, now that I'm done with that question... just yank it and turn the wheel. If your rear brakes are good enough, they'll grab and lock the wheels. If not, you should be looking into some new brake pads.

I hope I've helped a bit...but please don't quote me on all of that.

30mph handbrake turns are stupid, stupid, stupid... you can flatspot a set of tires in an instant like that.. and then they're useless for anything over 20mph.

You can't count up P&P and hi-flow cats as separate HP gains and expect to make any semi-accurate guesses.. you really need to develop a plan of attack, decide what kind of powerband you want to have and then work the whole system (intake, head, exhaust, fuel) to match. I reccomend you read a book by A. Graham Bell titled Four-Stroke Performance Tuning before you attempt any Port & Polish work.

Does your friend's dad have a flow bench? If you want the best candidate for a P&P job.. it'll be a guy with a flow bench.
