Did the 2nd gen escort ever get equipped with power door locks? if so how about keyless entry? if not the latter, i can make do with just power locks, and try to find some aftermarket keyless entry system.

I know EGT´s came with a GT Power Package(locks, windows etc..) and my Dad´s LX Wag came with a power everything as well(both are 95´s).

As far as keyless goes, even with standard locks you could get a decent keyless system for under $100(CND). That or just get your friend who is a Cert. GMC Tech. to put a full system in for you

You can add aftermarket keyless and power door locks for about $20 for the door locks and $80 to $100 for the keyless system

Yes I have aftermarket keyless and power locks, and they work great. I also have had a similar aftermarket setup on my ´88 Camaro I had a few years back. I did the install on it as well. Not too hard if you take your time and have a Haynes or Chilton´s manual handy. I got my lock solenoids from a company called All Electronics. You can find their website at http://www.allelectronics.com They have the cheapest price on the lock solenoids, but they don´t come with switches or keyless.

Do you have an Escort or are you talking about your Mercury coming with a power sunroof? Cause i have seen a few scorts with sunroofs around town. just not the GT model.

My 91 egt and my wrecked 92 egt both have sunroofs. It is very nice to have and looks cool.

My car didn´t have power anything but steering and brakes. But if you buy a car alarm like a Viper or anything that is compatible with keyless entry, some places that install can make it keyless entry. Circuit City did mine when I worked there. The have the solenoids and hooked it right up to my Viper alarm.

Mine came with Power windows, mirrors, locks, sunroof, seat belts ... uhmm and also cruz control on a 5 speed

yeah i have a 94 EGT, bought it used about 7 months ago, Only 1 previous owner, Has power windows, power mirrors, power sun roof, Cruise control and also fords KINDA power door locks, Where you push the door lock knob down or pull it up on the drivers side, and the passenger side does the same

So it has a solenoid in the pass. side just not drivers, So when i installed my car alarm which supports keyless entry, I got an extra solenoid and installed it in the drivers side door so that would push/pull that side and the pass. side would just follow then

works awsome, I think i will take pics sometime for anyone who wants to install one or if it would help at all.

hey James92Scort i am also from ft wayne and i have a 91 with the sunroof and i dont think the 91´s came with power locks or windows and if you are going to build your on power lock system go to pembeltons you will not find better prices any where in town and if you have never been there you better know what you need because it is a huge warehouse with electronics, the people at D&B i do not trust

Hey, Viper, you´re from and/or in ft wayne right now? I got a question...I´ve seen a white escort with a polished 2.5" muffler tip out by the Meijer off St Rd 3 and Dupont road, it has a bumper sticker that says "Die Yuppie Scum" and it´s from "Escort Mikes" car sales. I´ve never been to Pembertons, where is it at? I know where D&B is, and I have a coworker that likes them, he got his 12" subs and box and player from them. Tell me where they´re located, I´ll just in my car and head out there this weekend.

ok pembeltons is by ratheyon, if you turn right off of 3 by the shell station where the potato chip factory used to be and go down that road it is a blue building on the right hand side cant miss it, no i havent seen that white escort and its funny i live 5 min from meijer and i never go over that way.

Ok... i have a 95 LX with power everything. I wanna get an alarm with keyless entry (being my car was recently stolen and stereo system stripped). But here´s the thing i´m concerned about... u know how when you lock or unlock the drivers side door all the other doors lock/unlock right? Well, does the drivers side also have a little motor thing on it that causes it to go up and down? I can just imagine buying the keyless entry system and only having the passenger&rear doors lock/unlock and not the drivers side. Thanks for any help.
