I was reading about this before ERDT crashed and it said there was up to 16whp gain and near 10 wtq on the dyno. Anyone have info on this!?!?

A potentiometer is a variable resistor. It modifies the intake air temp signal to the ECU and "tricks" it into thinking it's running a colder charge then you actually are.

A simple fuel management system can do a much better job of the same thing and will run you about 200-300 bucks. I recommend the apexi safc.

I know someone dyno'd on it on a ZX2 and they got some pretty impressive results out of it, but I don't think/know if it was as high as 16hp. People have tried this with 1.9's on ERDT as well. Nobody's dyno'd to prove them on the 1.9's, but I don't thing the results were as impressive. They do have a dyno day coming up with our local car club, might be fun to go out and give this trick a try

Keep me posted Matt! I'd like to hear your numbers. The dyno numbers I threw up above came from EscortLvr I think.

mmm...

Just checked the car clubs forum. Dyno Day went from having a few spaces open to booked solid. I'll keep my eyes on that thread though, see if a space opens up

I talked to crank0r about this mod. He said the IAT sensor didn't do as much as the ECT did. But he had to run premium gasoline from that point on.
