I have a 93 LX Escort 5-spd with 191,000 miles on the clock. I have been having a problem with the car running rough (like sputtering along -almost like misfiring) at ~2,000 -> 2,800 rpms. It only happens at this engine speed, usually while maintaining a constant speed. The car runs fine otherwise. I have changed the plugs and wires, changed the Crank Position Sensor, Throttle Position Sensor, Mass Air Flow and Oxygen sensor. It didn´t help. What do you think could be causing this intermittent problem? I am stumped and so are several mechanics that I have questioned. Has anyone else had this problem?
