Hey Fellas,
Kind of new here but not new around engines...if any of you have ported heads from the 1.8 dohc (out of a 1992 escort gt) not sure if casting changed at any time.
But if you have ported the head can you tell me where any thin spots I might want to stay away from? it would save me buying a head which I would then fillet on my band saw.
I will be using single cut carbide, Sanding rolls and emory.
Also for valve swaps I want to go bigger valves , with a three way valve grind, valves with 32degree cut back, remove any shrouding around valve and cc and polishing the combustion chambers. I am building a NA engine for canyon running against 1.8 VW rabbits
