Ok folks... I´ve been wondering, and so probably have you. What kind of oil are the others running? Let´s get a little poll going. Simply follow my format.

Brand: Valvoline
Viscosity: 5w-30
Car & Engine: 1992 EGT, 1.8L
Mileage: 224,500 km
Comments: Minimal valve tap, great on normal temp days.

There... Now follow the leader. In the end, I´ll compile it all in a spreadsheet and post it for download.

Visc: 10w30
Car&Engine: 93´ EGT 1.8L DOHC
Mileage: 98,042
Comments: Stuff is AWESOME. However its $9 a quart. I run all Redline synthetic fluids in the scort.

Interesting poll, thanks for taking the initiative.

Car & Engine: ´92 EGT 1.8 L DOHC

Brand: Quaker State
Viscosity: 5w-30 or sometimes 10w-30
Car & Engine: 1992 EGT, 1.8L
Mileage: 86,000+ miles
Comments: The shop that rebuilt my engine sucks, oil still leaking (although slowly), minimal valve tap & ticking when level gets below half. i have three quarts oil sitting around to refill it at all times.

I´m with Kenny: 100% synthetic every 5000 km. But because I think that´s overkill, I don´t care which manufacturer makes it.

Brand: Canadian Tire 100% Synthetic
Viscosity: 5w-30
Car & Engine: 1995 EGT, 1.8L
Mileage: 99,500 km
Comments: This is the cheapest synthetic I can find -- same price as Walmart (approx $24.50 Cdn for 4 litres). Smells better than regular oil when I spill it all over the exhaust flex tube.

Brand: Been using cheap stuff, but since I´m going to be owning it longer than I had planned I´m thinking Mobil 1 is in order

Viscosity: 5w-30

Car & Engine: 1989 EGT 1.9 H0 (Gen 1 RULES)

Mileage: 130000+ miles
Damn the Metric system, I thought some of you guys were saying you had over 200000 Miles on 8 yr old cars, and I was like "Wow, That´s a lot for any car" then I saw Km and i was like "Duh, Canadiens use Metric"

Comments: Do these things ever leak?? the only oil on my oil pan is from changing the filter. The gasket is still functioning 100%. Not to mention after 3000 miles, I´m only 1/2 quart low if that, and that´s probably from wiping off the dipstick when I check it.

My oil pan leaks because I was driving too fast out of a steep parking lot exit once. I damaged the oil pan and a couple of exhaust heat shields.

I didn´t know that Castrol made a synthetic oil. I guess my work doesn´t sell it. I will have to go oil-hunting sometime soon.
