Well today i decided i hated the yellow look on my 91 Escort's headlights... so i took them out, sanded all the yellow crap off and polished them up. I have yet to see if it made a difference in night lighting though (probably yup). I polished the orange side markers too cause they looked dull by the headlights. Next mod will have to be some clear corners (the factory ones on the Tracers).

My mods to the escort so far are:
-speedo swap (PITA - had to rewire/move lotsa wires on the connectors, and add one to the EDIS module for the tach input). My stock speedo was tach less so i picked up one with a tach from the wreckers, put my speedometer in the new cluster (so same mileage - 159,997kms now) and it works great :)
-new plugs and wires
-2.0L SPI throttle body swap - did that a few days ago...made a difference! better take off and better top end. the throttle response is improved too. stock size - 40mm, now is 45mm) Had to bore out the intake to match the size of the new TB. good easy mod. I didn't bother with the 50mm 3.8L TB which bolts on cause setting up the throttle linkage is a pain in the butt - totally different.
-air silencer removed - NO word of a lie...a quarter would not fit thru the silencer's intake hole.
-modified the air box - hole is alot larger now.
-polished headlights
next mods: clear corner, 70mm MAF (to replace the stock 40-45mm mass air), turbo :)

anyways... here are the pics:

did some more mods the other day.... seems to have some more grunt up top. i got second gear chirp today when it shifted into 2nd...(atx). before i could only get it on tarry roads, but this time was on normal dry pavement.

you can see how small the stock MAF was on this car. tiiiiny.

and here is an overall pic with the new maf installed. it cost me nothing so why not right :)

VERY nice! IMO grey bumpers on a different color car make it look cheap. I think you should try and grab a GT body kit and some 15" aftermarket rims...that would make your car look pimp... Next thing you should do is actually put in a 2.0 SPI. lol :p

Awesome job! :thumbleft: :notworthy:
