it's not the starter. From what you have explained, it's probably a fuse or the ignition switch. Fuses are located in a black box near the driver's left knee (when seated).

If he doesnt hear the fuel pump coming on when he puts the key to ON, then the ignition switch is probably the cause. Either that or both the engine and fuel fuses (I think there are two) died simultaneously, which is unlikely.

When you put your key to the on position, can you use any electronic devices (lights, anything?)

My logic:

if he's tried to jump it (i.e. a known-to-be-good battery on his system), and he still cant hear ANYTHING when he puts the ignition switch to on, I'm led to believe that the swich is deffective. Accessories should come on when it's on acc, then when it's on ON, the fuel pump kicks in, along with stuff like the wipers, etc, and when in start, the starter relay and solenoid start doing their thing.


Sounds like the switch to siragan.
