Lol... that is just so, so wrong... but the sad thing is, with a solenoid valve that I could pick up from clppard, I could actually build one that ran on actual compressed air (pre-compressed) that I could actually stick under my hood, and it would sound very realistic... hehe what a great idea :)

actually, you guys know what I was planning on doing? This is kinda funny...

Rigging up a little electric circuit, or grabbing an old junker car alarm, and then making it so you have a little transmitter on your keychain so you can basically walk away from your car and hit a button on your keychain and it will make that classic "eep, eep" armed alarm sound, with abolutely no alarm protection! woot!

I´d just do it as a joke for friends and stuff, I think it would be hilarious.

o...m...g... that sounds like a shit load of fun, we´ve been having problems around our little town (10 000 pps) with vandalism, i could do that, or park my car accross the street, with the doors unlocked, then wait across the street with 3 friends, 2 with baseball bats and ropes, and me and one guy with paintball guns, and when they try to steal my shittin clarion deck that LOOKS cool, we´ll run over, beat there asses to the ground with bats and balls, then tie them up and take em to the cops, we´ll make them walk to the cop shop too.. maybe a few paintballs will land on their back on their way...

Wow.. i have 2 much time on my hands, me and 2 other friends planned this all out in a study we had friday.. (btw a study is just a free class where you cant go anywhere or do anything, so basically u just hafta sit there , no credit ;-) )

You do realize they have Intercooler "Effect" kits too...just kinda goes behind a bodykits front valence to look cool.

when most peeps see my car I just tell them its a Turbo-Effect kit...includes,
sound of spoolage, FMIC, Exhaunst manifold, Gauges in the car, and the fake blow off valve.

Sad part, most peeps believe I have all that for an "effect" kit more then they believe its actually a turbo´d Escort.

hahahahahahaha....

I´d love to turbo my scort, even though it has 133,000 miles on the BP engine... even if the turbo didn´t work I´d love to have the spoolage and BOV sound, that´s probably half the reason I´d do it. Too bad it would run me like 3000 bucks for all the electronic shit you have to buy.

while ur at it w/ the fake security, Logitec came out with an optical mouse and it had a blinking led on the outside of the box. rig that in ur dash and there u go...fake security... But personally, i´ve found if u have rims, the car gets broken into (sad, sad day for the JL w 6´s and the rockford amp)...so i recommend gettin a security system. I got the Viper 500esp. And w/ it i had power locks installed and power windows for 100 bucks a door.

Sad, but I admit I have a blinking led. I made it in an electronics class several years ago and I had this $200 Tercel so I thought it would be the ultimate joke to secure that piece of junk so I hooked it to a relay so it turns off when you turn the key on. I for some reason migrated it to all the cars I´ve had since. For the EGT, I thought it might be a deterrent. But I know what you´re saying and I´m guilty of it. :-?

Funny thing is it might be easier to just put in an actual alarm, They have ´em for like $CDN80. :)

yeah I could hook up a simple little 555 timer circuit with a single blue or red LED that would be on all the time the car was off. I know how to make a light blink, the only trouble would be getting it to turn off when the car turned on... any suggestions?

3000? what for? if u want the factory bp setup, u would just need intake, manifold and intercooler...lines turbo´s and all....it cost my friend a lil less than a grand.. bought turbo used for 150. manifold for lil less than 200... piping was like 70. intercooler used was 150....only thing that cost him extra was BOV & turbo timer. He doesnt have a boost controller tho...not yet atleast. I"m gettin ready to do the same thing.

dayum... if I could get this project done for around a grand, I´d start saving now and by this time next year I could have the project completed.

However, my engine has 133,000 miles on it, and my car hasn´t been well taken care of. Rust everywhere, tranny is in fair condition, engine leaks a tad from the valve cover gasket, etc. It´s still fast, but I wouldn´t know how to compare it to another GT because this is the first EGT I´ve ever owned or driven.

I know people say not to turbo a car with over 100K on the engine, but why not? I don´t mind if I destroy my GT because it´s kinda a piece of shit anyways, and I figure that maybe later in life I will be able to afford a nice quick 1st gen single turbo RX-7, which is really my dream car :)

What about your Lotus Elise, siragan? Is that a long term car goal?
I personally think that the 3rd gen RX-7 is the best of them all. But if you look at the HP+torque for the price you could get a mid 90s Supra TT w/ the same hp (276) but with 331 lb ft torque. Of course anyone with a Supra or an RX-7 has had to have modified it in someway...
The day you get your RX-7 is the day I get my Supra TT, we´ll race ;-) :-]

man, too bad its already gone, so i cant post a link, but there used to be a muffler on ebay that made a whistling sound to simulate having a turbo. It was posted on another forum as the second sign of the apocolypse :-]
