i'm a newbie to the spi, but had a 93lx which i beat the hell out of until someone hit me and it got totaled. anyway, does anyone know if there are swappable internals ( cranks, pistons, etc.) from the dohc 1.8, the zetecs or non scort engines like the taurus or probe? alsocan you use zx2 perf parts like intakes and such on the spi's? i'm also looking into doing a turbo set-up, especially if i can find a probe for a parts car so i can just swap everything from the turbo set-up over. so if you guys know anything, let me know thanks.

you can exchange parts from the 1.9 and 2.0 sohc engines.....the 1.8 i do not know a lot about but i can tell you theres no parts that are exchangable with other scort engine....the zetec is a good canidate for a swap and I hear the pistons may be swapable into a cvh motor but wont do a whole lot for you

if you need turbo info talk to me , marclar , jeffescortlx , anyone else i may have left out Iam sorry im still new here

The only performance part you can use from a zx2 is the catback exhaust systems. Other then that the make intakes, cams, and a header just for the SPIs so there isn't much of a need to be using parts from other motors.

- adjustable Fuel pressure regulator
- Larger injectors
- diablo stage 3 chip

those go hand and hand.. Don't do just one, because it will make the car perform worse...

- PACESETTER zx2 catback (cannot thank Altima_WB enough)
- Pacesetter headder
- 25% EFP underdrive pully
- adjustable cam gear (works better then you think)
- CAI for SPI/CHV (don't waste your time/money on mod'ing one that was not made for it. )

I still have not installed the headder or injectors because I have not reached the full extent with the stock injectors..

There's really not much of a need to upgrade the fuel injectors or change the fuel pressure with bolt on's. The only time you'll exceed the stock MAF/Injectors or need higher fuel pressure is if you have spray, boost or major head work, like a lot of porting and larger valves.

For Exsample, I still have a stock 1.9 fuel system in my 96lx, it has a 2.0 SPI motor, header, cat back, superchip, CAI, UDP has about 111whp or 125 crank hp, the stock 1.9 fuel system still has room to go before it bottom's out.

I have head work and I am waiting on my EFP cam.. So I needed the adj FPR, but I was listing the mods that I seen an actual increase from.

I agree with you.. but depending on the year, you may have to use larger injectors and tune because there is no return line to regulate.
