I imagine some of the folks have looked at body kits for escorts. The only one I have been able to find is a one DRIFTER type from Extreme Dimensions, and one for a 2 door model from a manf. out of Canada.

If there are some other links for various body kits for a 2nd gen could someone help me out?

Or maybe a detailed how to on making a body kit?

your only 3 options are

1.the andys kit

2. the drifter kit

3. make your own

the andys kit is just wraps so you would have to mold them into your stock bumpers. but there is a knockoff kit on ebay, wich i actually think is better because the bumpers are shorter, so you can still lower the car. but the sideskirts will not line up with the bumpers(the skirts are lower) on the ebay kit.

and DAMN whatever anyone else says its YOUR car, you want a body kit, then you get a body kit!
but PLEASE DO NOT PUT A WING ON IT!! unless its a stock escort wing

There are sooooooooooo many options out there for 2nd gen owners.

Full kits:

Andy's Auto Sport

FX Designs

Extreme Dimension

Pieces:

Erebuni still has the front bumper, which is very nice.

Corksport still sells 3-4 bumpers that can be made to work on the Escort. (CS, EVO, GTX, GTR), and the Evo sideskirts will fit

Ford Laser kits can be imported from AU

EGT bumpers and skirts

There are tons of other possibilities, but just a handful to start off with.

As for the AAS knock off kits... I think they look like crap. They are way too short front and back, and totally throw off the lines of the car.

i think the knockoff kit looks better because you can go lower, and the real kit has wayyy to big of a solid piece before the vents start.

but thats just my personal opinion

you could always make your own. it's always nice to look at it and say "I designed that!" check out my wagon I put mustang bumpers on it.

it is hard to find kits for 2nd gen, one thing i was thinking since everyone is going for that clean smooth look, cut your from and back bumpers lengthwise and stretch them don with fibre glass.

that is a option as well but thats up to you. I'm not to happy about putting fiberglass kits on because of them cracking the bumpers that i have on my wagon are flexible so no worries of cracking.

I'm not too crazy about the huge wings that folks put on cars, not my style. IF and thats a big IF I did, it would be stock from a gt but since mines a 4 door lx I think it would look goofy as all get out.

I have acutally looked at several kits and decided to make my own. I found one that I really liked that looked kick a$$ on a 94' VW Golf http://www.bodykits.com/Extreme-Dim...lex-Fiberglass-KE_S-Body-Kit-_-111259/615031/ so I drew out the design I wanted and have been reading on building them with wire mesh and fiber glass. Still lacking that confidence to go buy the materials and supplies until I have all the bases covered and make sure that this isn't going to come out all screwed up.

I filled out an application to get my car sponsored... got some kick a$$ ideas I will get some of the design concepts posted on here soon.

If anyone has any links to websites with how to sections and pictures on working with fiberglass and what not let me know[/url]
