So anybody know if there is a replacement for the back shocks(struts) on a 89 escort? Ive spent hours trying but no luck, maybe there is a shop that can rebuild them?

The link says they cost £0.00, what's that in US dollars?

Keep us posted after you get them, and fit them and verify they are correct and work.

Huh, the link now gives that price when I look at it. But the first time, it showed a zero price, yet claimed the shocks were in stock.
Anyhow, it will be good to see a resolution to this saga.

well I got them and they are installed haven't driven on them yet but they basically bolt right in. Only have to drill a hole for the brake line bracket retaining bolt (see pictures I am pointing at with my fingers) I didn't need to use the extra flag bracket for anything so I just left it alone. I reused the rubber protective boots but needed to ream them out a bit as the new shocks are just a little thicker on the shank and had to cut a slit so they didn't rub. the length is the same as the stock ones.

well I have driven on the new shocks they ride quite nice. Just a little firmer then what was in there before but I am happy with them

I ordered some on ebay last month from a seller in the UK. I ordered them on a Sunday, they came just two Mondays later! Amazing. Haven't put them in yet, but should match up like the user above did. My total was $320 for the pair including shipping. There are still some left from various sellers, but the one I bought from (tunershop_uk) no longer has them listed. 22-040862 is the Bilstein model number.

True story man, I payed $300 for my '90.

A quick search of that Bilstein p/n came up with this:
Try this link
Looks legit...
Note the price of 103 Euros includes 21% sales tax (!) which can possibly be deducted for an export item.
