I have seen lots of people ask the question of will the 1.9 HO head from the 1st gen EGTs work on the SEFI 1.9 motors. All i have seen is i think so if you put a freeze plug in the distributor hole. I just recently came across a 1990 EGT for 400 bucks and i am going to pick it up prolly some time next week. I am going to go turbo on this car looking to run about 12PSI. I already have all the parts located to do everything im going to do. I can pick everything up for around 800 bucks. My friend just purchased a 91 lx and he is wondering about putting the head from the 1.9 HO onto his 1.9 sefi motor. He is also wanting to go turbo with his car. He will prolly run the same boost and probably almost the same exact setup that i am running. Now here is my question will the 1.9 HO out of the 1st gen GT bolt up to the 2nd gen lx tranny and chassis? That is my question. I am also lacking the 1.6 liter turbo exaust manifold if anybody knows where i can possibly get one I would be much abliged.

The only thing that I know that will work is the *headers.. fuel rail* thats Alll I know that will work. if it is the true 1.9ho, then I would get the motor and swap it. they seem to hold up better then the first gen motors... oh wiati it is a first gen motor... hummm nm me, but the headers and the fuel rail will work.

Just crossreference the gaskets and that´ll give you a good starting point.

I can anwser your question about the exhaust manfold. You should be able to find one in a junk yard or ford dealership off of an escort EXP, they had the 1.6 and I think some even had the 1.9, but the header should fit both from what I am told.

Doubting the 12 psi to the 1.9 liter. it will be done oh yes. I have an unlimited supply of parts for these cars seeing how they sell all day in arkansas from 500-50 cash. I will keep you guys updated on how it goes once i get started.
