its all about building out of car and making sure you have everthing. then when you go to swap you will still need to make runs to teh parts store and homedepot to make everythign correct.

my custom mani, custom downpipe, and T3 should be on the car by the end of next week...and then I gotta save up for the Megasquirt. and fuel injectors.

everything else on my turbo build is done...intercooler and pipin has been laid out, cut and measured..

its hard to not get impatient man..but you should be able to save up...just buy little pieces at a time..

also anyone have a 40mm wastegate???

Are you talking about a real used one or a fake new one?

Think he's looking at the kung-pao version. Alot of the Supra guys have had good luck with the SSAC turbos, you gotta watch the random sellers on ebay though..

a fake new one. im gonna guinea pig it for you guys. plus, like i said, i been hearing good things from people that have used them, ive seen cars in action that have them. so i feel confident enough to try it out. im gonna do further research before i make the purchase. but im excited, and if it works out well. then us dsm guys have a place to get an inexpensive brand new turbo.

how much do those cars weigh? they cant be much over 3k lbs, even if they are that heavy. 400 rwhp should still be TONS of fun.

I have heard of a few success stories of XS brand turbo, like a few months back a dude ran 10's in a Honda hatch and he got his turbo direct from XS power. But I still here more problems then good.
I did a little research before I got my used 16g, I dug around a few DSM forums searching for new's of cream cheese 16g's. And the DSM guy's hate them as much as the Honda guy's, they had a hard time given them away.
A real used one is about the same price as a new fake one, so I did'nt think it was worth the chance.

Maybe it's just issues with their smaller turbos, dunno. I know plenty of people running their T70s, T61s, and the monster GT45s with absolutely no issues.

Alot of the blow turbos I've seen are due to people not properly priming new turbos with oil. It would also be a good idea to take it apart and clean it, I saw one case where there was still some blasting media (walnut shells) in a compressor housing.

In most cases you get what you pay for, but you can buy a few chinese turbos for what a 16g from Forced Performance will cost you :) Also, if it blows it can be rebuilt with quality internals and still run about 1/2 of a new name brand turbo, the housings are generally pretty good. Plus, we're Escort guys who think $500 for a turbo setup is too much

I know there tempting, but i have resisted so far. I'm OK with ching chong meow BOV, if they go bad you only end up with a boost leak or compressor surge. But a unballanced turbo spining 100,000 RPM's spewing oil can be a little more messy and leave you along side the road.
I wish you luck, I'd like to see them be just as good as the real thing, who would'nt love a new-cheap turbo, but I'm not 100% convinced on them yet.
