Hello everyone, I though I´d introduce myself. My winter beater (´87 Chev Cavalier) was stolen about a month ago. I noticed a ´93 Escort GT at a local lot and gave it a test drive.
Wow! I was so impressed I snatched it the day after. I used to have a 88 Tempo POS and I thought Ford was off my list forever.
The only problem is that now I have two cars I want to build up. My other ride is a ´91 Mazda MX-5 Brg.

I have a small problem that is undiagnosed at this time with my new Escort. There is a slight bump/knocking kind of noise that I can hear at idle and dosen´t seem to change at different RPM´s.
My buddy thinks it´s coming from the water pump, maybe a loose pulley.

Can anyone help me or direct me to a garage section at these forums?

Welcome man. Why would someone steal your Cavalier? Just like Escorts, they´re EVERYWHERE... oh well. a knocking? try wiggling everything around to see if it´s some sort of pulley or whatnot.
