hello, I am new to the site and need some help. I have 95 lx that I am fixing up. I have read a lot about springs and suspension, but am not sure still the best way to go. Any chance someone can tell me specifically what strut and lowering spring combos are available, or work well. Part numbers would help. Also, I see coilover sets that seem inexpensive on EBAY , but I am not sure how these would work with struts and what strut I would have to get. I am new to suspension mods, but have the ability to install, I just need some specific direction on parts as I have now idea what works, what's affordable, etc.. thanks for any help. I love this site, it has lots of info, I just need help deciphering it all.

Welcome to the forum anyway. We have 3 Escort LX's, but lowering them is out of the question. We do a lot of driving in Mexico, visiting relatives, and Mexico uses heavy duty speed bumps (topes) in place of speed traps or radar. Our wagons almost scrape on them when carrying 3 or 4 people. In fact I had to replace a broken rear spring because the muffler would drag on the 'topes'.

i just put s/r struts and h & r springs on my 96 gt and it sets and handles nice now. dropped it about 2 inches. i think the same setup will work on your lx.
