Hey guys (and girls), I'm Richard (or Lycaon online.) I'm from south-western CT if anyone's wondering. Just picked up a '94 escort last month with 60k on it. Needed new struts brakes and some work on driver side door. After all that work I just fell in love with the car. Was looking online for some interior mods when I found thing forum. From what I've read it looks like an awesome bunch of people. Just glad to find people who love these cars as much as I do.

Welcome to the forum. The Escorts may be the most pleasant little car Ford has made since the Model A. I dont know about the early Mustangs; never had one.
Since you are from a state where they use salt in the winters I think, I recommend you examine the brake lines going to the rear axle for rust. The spot where mine rusted through was up beside the fuel tank. It could only be seen from directly under it, not from looking in from the side. That was a 92 Escort that has spent its entire life in N. VA. I liked it so well I got another one, then another one. Now we have 3 of them, 2agons & a sedan, all 2nd gen. LX's - mostly because we live in two places; summer and winter. Im looking around for a 4th one, either for myself, or to fix up for a niece's first car.

Thanks for the advice. It just snowed yesterday and the roads suck today, so I'll take a look at the brake lines later in the day.
