Hello all! I've owned a 97 LX Sport for the last 7 years. Just now realizing the Escort is much less a grandma car than I originally thought, I started creeping the forums for motor swap info. After seeing the gears and gasoline turbo Zx2 build I figured it easier to grab a Zx2 and mod it from there (I like the coupe look a lot better anyhow) So now I have two scorts, the 97 for DDing and the 2000 Zx2 as a project. I look forward to the knowledge, tips and tricks I'll garner from you much more seasoned owners!

The Escort may be a grandma car, but my wife and I have grandsons - so they fit us pretty well. We recently got back from a Christmas trip, from far south coastal Texas, to visit with the grandsons in West Seattle. We drove our 94LX wagon, covering nearly 6000 miles. It just ran - not passing very many cars, but giving us about 35 mpg.
    And welcome to the forums!

I think the ZX2 looks super sporty. I recently got a new (old 01) Corolla and it took a minute to get used to having four doors. The first time I needed to get in the back I looked for the lever to put the seat up! Good luck fixing up your cars!
